We all know horses are an expensive hobby. If you want to try a new discipline buying new show clothes can make it cost prohibitive. And what if you don’t like the new class as much as you thought you would?
The Lending Closet was created to help equestrians who want to try a new discipline do so without having to purchase new outfits. We have collected gently used show clothes from a variety of disciplines that can be rented so you can try a new discipline without buying a new outfit. Browse our discipline catalogs and let us know if there is an outfit that will work for you to try a new class. Some items may be purchased if you decide they are perfect for you.. All proceeds from The Lending Closet go towards our Youth program.
Rental fees vary depending on the items you need, cost of shipping, and cost of cleaning after the items are returned. Central States AHA members do not pay a rental fee, and are only responsible for the cleaning fee and any shipping fees. Items may be picked up and returned directly to the closet located in Columbia, MO.
If you are interested in donating your gently used show clothes, hats, or boots please contact Michelle Werts (Michelle@PerspectiveFarms.com) or Naomi Dille (kd5794@yahoo.com). We will send a tax receipt for any donations we receive when accompanied by your name and mailing address.
Check back as we update our lending closet items. We hope to have the closet “open” by January 2025!
